With Jang Dong Yoon as Kim Baek Doo and Lee Joo Myoung as Oh Yoo Kyung as the main lead, the series is directed by Kim Jin Woo and written by Won Yon Jung. The supporting cast includes Yun Jong Seok, Kim Bo Ra, Lee Jae Joon, Lee Joo Seung, and others.

Jang Dong-Yoon, who plays the lead role in The Tale of Nokdu, has consistently delivered performances that are both startling and charming, leaving the audience wanting more.

Storyline

The protagonist, Kim Baek Doo, represents the Geosan County Office in traditional Korean wrestling matches called ssireum. Born within a prominent ssireum family, Baek Doo was the youngest son. He used to be a genius in ssireum but his reputation as a brilliant ssireum wrestler has faded in recent years. At this point, he is considering calling it quits in the sport.

A watershed moment in Baek Doo’s ssireum life occurs when he reunites with his childhood friend Oh Yoo Kyung. As the ssireum squad’s management staff is about to disintegrate, she takes over as head coach.

At the same time, they are surrounded by individuals such as Joo Mi Ran, a mysterious cafe owner, and Min Hyun Wook, who came out of nowhere in Geosan County and settled in well. Cho Seok Hee, Baek Doo’s closest friend and a police officer, and Kwak Jin Soo, the new coach of the ssireum squad, are also there.
