The 70th Miss World will be held on Thursday at the Jose Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This year Miss World will be crowned by the present Miss World namely Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica. Toni-Ann is the longest-reigning Miss World as no Miss World pageant was held in 2020 owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In 1951, Eric Morley organised the Festival Bikini Contest as a part of the Festival of Britain. However, the media dubbed the event as Miss World. Later, Morley registered the Miss World name as a trademark. However, since Eric Morley’s death, his wife Julia Morley co-chairs the beauty event, which is the oldest running international beauty pageant.
First Miss World: The first Miss World is Kiki Håkansson of Sweden who was crowned in 1951.
First Miss World From India: Reita Faria became the first Indian titleholder in 1966.

Manasa Varanasi will represent India at the Miss World 2021. She is among the top 10 contestants. Manasa is a graduate of Vasavi College of Engineering and has an interest in finance. Her favourite quote is, “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
Manasa loves reading books, doing yoga, and listening to music. Besides, she is influenced by her grandmother, mother, and younger sister. She considers Priyanka Chopra Jonas as her inspiration.
