Zoya mentioned how impatient Made in Heaven viewers had been while waiting for Season 2. She said she was pressured by social media trolls to air Season 2 of the show’s critically acclaimed drama.

In addition, Zoya emphasised the show’s devoted following. “No matter what I post, I am asked about ‘Made in Heaven’, and now because it’s been so long, I am being trolled, so I just wanted this show to drop fast, because my fans were getting irritated, the show’s fans. It has gone very well, I am thankful to my fans, they have held on to it and haven’t forgotten it”, she added.

The director reflected on the film’s trajectory and stated they were pleasantly surprised by the positive response they received. She said that it was one of the first performances of its kind to originate in India and that its reception was uncertain.

Reema Kagti said that, after the success of the first season, they aimed to improve upon their formula for Made in Heaven 2. Covid-19 was blamed for causing havoc on set, according to the writer-director.

According to producer Ritesh Sidhwani, a lot has changed since the first season, but fans can still count on stellar work from Zoya and Reema. He said that much effort was spent on research for Season 2.

According to Zoya Akhtar, the programme has focused on women and the LGBTQ community. She went on to say that this season would explore similar themes further.
