Mahabharat actor Rasik Dave passed away due to kidney failure; Fans pour in tributes

Reportedly, the couple owned a Gujarati theatre company. Rasik began his career in 1982 in a Gujarat film titled Putra Vadhu.

New Delhi: Actor Rasik Dave passed away on Friday in Mumbai owing to kidney failure. The actor was aged 65 years. Reportedly, Rasik who was married to actor Ketki Dave was undergoing dialysis for the last two years. His last rites are expected to take place on Saturday. Rasik was a popular face in many Gujarati dramas and Gujarati films as well as Hindi TV shows.

While Rasik was popular in the Gujarati film and theatre industry, his wife Ketki was known for her role as Daksha in the TV show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Reportedly, the couple owned a Gujarati theatre company. Rasik began his career in 1982 in a Gujarat film titled Putra Vadhu.

Besides, the late actor played role of Karsandas Dhansukhlal Vaishnav in Sanskaar – Dharohar Apnon Ki. He gained fame in the Hindi TV industry with his character Nand in the epic television series Mahabharat which started airing in the 1980s. In 2006, the couple also participated in the dance reality show, Nach Baliye.

As per the reports by ETimes, Rasik was undergoing treatment for kidney-related ailments for the past two years. In the last month, his medical journey became painful as his kidney started to deteriorate.

The late actor was survived by his wife, Ketki, son, and a daughter.

Fans started pouring in tribute to the late actor on social media. One of the fans wrote, “Gujarati theatre lost its charm. Will miss you Rasik bhai (brother),” while another user commented, “A big loss.” A Twitter user also said, “Prayers for the ultimate peace of the departed soul.” A person commented on a post shared by a paparazzi account on Rasik’s death, and wrote, “May his soul rest in peace.”
