New Delhi: Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan is all set to share the screen with Jaideep Ahlawat in his upcoming flick titled Maharaj.
Instead of arriving on the conventional big screens, the film, helmed by Siddharth P Malhotra, will premiere directly on OTT, allowing fans to stream it hassle-free from the comfort of their homes.
Maharaj OTT Release Date
Taking to its official Instagram handle on May 29th, 2024, Jaideep Ahlawat confirmed that Maharaj will start streaming on Netflix from June 14th, 2024. Meanwhile, Netflix also broke out the news of Junaid starrer Flicker’s digital debut by sharing a post about the same on social media.
In the post, the global OTT giant dropped an intriguing poster of the Hindi drama & attracted it to a caption reading, “The fight for the truth between a powerful man and a fearless journalist. Based on true events from the 1860s – Maharaj is releasing on 14 June, only on Netflix!”

Maharaj Plot
Inspired by a chain of allegedly true events that unfolded back in 1862, Maharaj’s story circles the life & struggle of a courageous reformist & journalist who leaves no stone unturned in fighting for justice and truth against an influential man.
Based on the 1862 famous case called The Maharaj Libel Case, the movie, written by Sneha Desa, Vipul Mehta, and Bernard Williams, dwells deep into the daring journalism of Karsandas Mulji who, without caring about his own safety & life, published an article titled ‘Maharaj’, accusing a respected religious leader of harassing his female followers.
Cast and Production
Junaid Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat play the leading roles in Maharaj which also features talented actors like Vipul Mehta, Sneha Desa Shalini Panday, and Sharvari as other crucial characters. Aditya Chopra has produced the film under the banner of Yash Raj Films Entertainment (YRF).
