New Delhi: Among the many Bollywood stars who have shifted their focus to digital content with the rise of OTT platforms is Huma Qureshi. The great success of her performance in the online series ‘Maharani’ prompted its return for a much anticipated third season.
The show vividly depicts Bihar and an unprepared rural woman’s quest for self-awareness and political freedom. The show’s journey started in 2021, with Subhash Kapoor as its creator.
About – Maharani
The story revolves around Bihar’s CM Bheema Bharti’s wife, Rani Bharti, who is a housewife. Now that her husband has resigned, Rani intends to go back to her hometown. But when Bheema names her as his successor, the story takes a surprising turn.
At first, Rani has a hard time understanding the power that comes with becoming chief minister due to her lack of political savvy and other obstacles. She navigates the complexity of political life with determination, using her newfound authority carefully, in her pursuit of retaining her position.

Season 3 Plot
In Season 3 of Maharani, we will see the now-incarcerated Chief Minister of Bihar, Rani Bharti, lurking in the shadows and patiently waiting for her day to shine. Meanwhile, her adversaries have all the cards. Despite facing opposition from her husband, state, and son, Rani perseveres with the backing of her daughter and Kaveri. However, from this point on, she will emerge as a formidable person, not only a mother or political figure.
Season 3 of Maharani finds Rani playing the game, after having learned the ropes in seasons 1 and 2 about corruption, business, politics, and crime.
When and Where to Watch?
New episodes of Maharani Season 3 will premiere on Sony LIV on March 7. In her role as Chief Minister, Huma Qureshi takes an interest in the state of Bihar, and she reprises her role as Rani.
