New Delhi: Mahesh Babu is set to begin the shoot for his next film, SSMB 28 (working title) on January 18 while the film is set to release on August 11. The film producer Naga Vamsi revealed the dates and the cast of the film in an interview while promoting ‘Butta Bomma’. Fans are waiting for the film to hit the cinemas as Mahesh Babu is collaborating with the director Trivikram Srinivas for the third time.
Talking in the interview, Naga Vamsi also told that the film will star Pooja Hegde and Sreeleela. Mahesh Babu and Pooja Hegde received a lot of love for their film ‘Maharishi’ and fans must be anticipating seeing their on-screen romance again.

The film was announced in May 2021 but was delayed and is set to release this year. Mahesh Babu was reportedly not satisfied with the initial draft of the film and last year he lost his elder brother and parents, which led to an unexpected delay in the shoot.
While the film will hit the cinemas in August, Netflix also announced itself as the digital partner for an OTT release. Netflix India South’s official Twitter handle made the announcement for SSMB 28.

The title of the film is not revealed as of now.
Mahesh Babu’s classic hit film ‘Okkadu’ has also completed 20 years on 15 January 2023 and fans are sharing stills and clips from the film on social media. Mahesh was last seen in ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ opposite Keerthy Suresh, which went on to become the highest-grossing Telugu film for 2022.
