New Delhi: Makers released the trailer of Madhuri Dixit’s upcoming film ‘Maja Ma’. The film is directed by Anand Tiwari and also stars Gajraj Rao and Ritwik Bhowmik in the lead roles. After ‘Fame Game’ this will be the second OTT venture for Madhuri Dixit. The film also features Barkha Singh, Srishti Shrivastava, Simone Singh Rajit Kapur, Sheeba Chaddha, Ninad Kamat and Malhar Thakar in the cast.
The family entertainer focuses on the lives of middle-class families. In the film, Madhuri plays Pallavi Patel while Ritwik plays his son, who thinks his mother is ‘absolutely perfect’. The plot takes a turn when Pallavi’s son’s engagement with a rich NRI girl is in jeopardy and family secrets spill out. From a smooth entertainer, the trailer shows the movie moving towards chaos and conflict. Meanwhile, Gajraj Rao provides comic relief with his meticulous timing. The trailer ends on a high note where Madhuri says she is not just someone’s wife or mother but has her own identity.
Talking about Pallavi’s character, Madhuri said that she is excited about her character and the role has complex nuances that she has never played before. “She goes through a multitude of emotions that could have strong repercussions on her life and the lives of people she loves,” Madhuri added. Meanwhile, Gajraj Rao told that his character goes through difficult and unexpected situations. he added that it was a ‘great experience’ to work with Madhuri.
The film is written by Sumit Batheja and Anand Tiwari, while Amritpal Singh Bindra produced the movie. ‘Maja Ma’ will release on Amazon Prime Video on October 6.
