New Delhi: Superstar Mohanlal graced the big screens with his much-hyped Malayalam epic-actioner Malaikottai Vaaliban earlier this year.

However, against the expectations of the makers, the movie ended up being a huge letdown for the fans, causing its collections to go downhill right after a few initial super-hit shows.

As of writing this article, Malaikottai Vaaliban’s BO collections stand at a mediocre figure of Rs 25 crore (worldwide) & considering that the film was made on a massive budget of Rs 65 crore, it will be safe to say that the Mohanlal starrer is on its way to becoming one of the biggest disappointments of his career.

It has been already confirmed by the makers that post the conclusion of its theatrical run, Malaikottai Vaaliban will arrive on the OTT platform Disney + Hotstar which has bagged the film’s digital rights for a considerable price.

Now, reports are suggesting that Malaikottai Vaaliban will start streaming on the said platform on or around March 1, 2024. However, the official announcement regarding the epic action-drama’s digital premiere is yet to be unveiled by the filmmakers.

Helmed by skilled director Lijo Jose Pellissery, Malaikottai Vaaliban narrates to story of a ruthless undefeated warrior who goes beyond the limit of time & geography, prevailing over each and every opponent who comes his way. How an unexpected encounter with a dancer changes his life & makes him come face to face with new challenges is the remaining story of the movie.

In its stellar cast, the Malayalam actioner features several talented actors including Mohanlal,  Sonalee Kulkarni, Hareesh, and Danish Sait in pivotal roles. It was released in the cinemas under the banner of John & Mary Creative Century Films, Maxlab Cinemas, and Entertainments Saregama Amen Movie Monastery on 25 January 2024.
