‘Male version of Kangana Ranaut!,’ Netizens react as Akshay’s ‘Selfiee’ fails to impress viewers, may be his 6th flop in a row

The real smack in the face of Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi’s Selfiee is the gaunt first-day collection. In contrast to Akshay Kumar’s stardom, the movie even failed to beat Kartik Aryan’s unfortunate film Shehzada.

New Delhi: Akshay Kumar is dishing out flops one after another. His latest flick with Emraan Hashmi failed to generate footfall in cinema halls.

Akshay Kumar’s Selfiee is a Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Driving License which was released in 2019.

Though some critics have given a positive response to the comedy remake, as it is one thing Akshay Kumar rarely fails at.

The good reviews gave it to Akshay Kumar for the perfect mix of comedy and emotional sequences.

However, most have deemed it a feeble copy, calling the original Malayalam flick 1000 times better.

The real smack in the face of Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi’s Selfiee is the gaunt first-day collection. In contrast to Akshay Kumar’s stardom, the movie even failed to beat Kartik Aryan’s unfortunate film Shehzada.

Selfiee’s first-day collection is expected to not exceed 6-7 crores.

Some users also compared the movie with SRK’s super-duper hit film Pathaan, as its day 31 occupancy was reportedly more than that of Selfiee’s day 1st.

One user went ahead and called Akshay Kumar the male version of Kangana Ranaut. The user posted lists of both of their flop movies side by side and drew a comparison.

Although, Akki’s fans countered him by saying that his OTT films Cuttputli and Atrangi Re did well.

Selfiee is a story of a top-shot Bollywood star Vijay Kumar (Akshay Kumar) who urgently requires a driver’s license from RTO officer Om Prakash (Emraan Hashmi).

Om Prakash is a die-hard fan of Vijay Kumar but a mere misunderstanding leads to a full-fledged war between the two that plays out in front of the entire nation.

Nushrratt Bharuccha and Diana Panty are the two female leads of the movie.
