Malhotra mentioned that the script is still in progress and will be inspired by books about the late actress. In a recent interview, he confirmed his Involvement in the Meena Kumari biopic for the first time and shared that they are currently working on the script.

The designer shared that he began watching Meena Kumari’s films and gained a deeper appreciation for her craft. He praised her incredible expressions, the way she used her eyes and her unique style.

Initially, there were reports that Tajdar Amrohi, Meena Kumari’s stepson and the son of renowned filmmaker Kamal Amrohi, expressed dissatisfaction and even threatened legal action against Manish Malhotra and Kriti Sanon, who is being considered for the role of Meena Kumari in the film.
