New Delhi: Chris Evans aka Captain America was awarded the title of ”sexiest man alive” for the year 2022 on Monday by People Magazine. Evans replaced his marvel co-star Paul Rudd who the title in 2021. Sharing his reaction to the title, Chris said, ”My mom will be so happy.”
The title is given every year to a person by the American magazine. Here’s the list of 10 men who were awarded the ‘sexiest man alive’ title in the last 10 years.
1. Chris Evans – 2022
Chris Evans won the title for 2022 at the age of 41. Evan was born in Boston in the United States. His mother worked as an artistic director and his father is a dentist. Evans started his career in Opposite Sex in 2000 and rose to fame as a Steve Rogers in Captain America.
2. Paul Rudd – 2021
Paul Rudd was awarded the title in 2021 at the age of 52. Rudd was born in America’s New Jersey on April 6, 1969. He made his acting debut in 1991 after studying theater at the Univesity of Kansas and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. The 53-year-old actor is best known for his role in the Marvel film Ant-Man.
3. Michael B. Jordan – 2020
California-born actor, director, and producer Michael B. Jordan won the title at the age of 33. He is famous for his role in Creed, Fantastic Four, and Friday Night Lights. During his early days of education, he played football and basketball. After winning the title, Jordan said, ”He was most excited for the women in his family to celebrate this.”
4. John Legend – 2019
John Legend is regarded as an American singer, songwriter, producer, and pianist. Legend rose to fame after he released his first album Get Lifted in 2004. He married Chrissy Teigen in 2013 and has 3 children. Legend won the title at the age of 40.
5. Idris Elba – 2018
Idris Elba was in London on Sepetember 6, 1972. Elba is popular for his role in Thor and its two other franchisees. He is also known for his role in a biographical film of former South African President Nelson Mandela released in 2013. The 50-year-old actor made his directorial debut in 2018. He first married Hanne Norgaard in 1999 then Sonya Nicole Hamlin in 2006. He is currently married to Sabrina Dhowre in 2019. Elba bagged the title at the age of 46.
6. Blake Shelton – 2017
Black Shelton is a famous American country music singer. He launched his debut album ”Austin” in 2001 which secured the top position on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart for five weeks. Shelton won the title at the age of 41. He married three times in his life — 2003, 2011, and 2021.
7. Dwayne Johnson ‘The Rock’ – 2016
Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock is not only famous for his roles in movies but also as a WWE superstar. Johnson’s latest film Black Adam was released in theatres on October 20. The 50-year-old actor first married Dany Garcia in 1997, followed by Lauren Hashian in 2019. The California-born actor won the ”sexiest man alive” title at the age of 44.
8. David Beckham – 2015
David Beckham is an English former professional footballer who was awarded the sexiest man alive title at the age of 40. He begin his career as a professional footballer by joining Manchester United at the age of 17 in 1992. He married Victoria Adams in 1999 and has 4 children.
