‘Mental Health Matters’: Deepika Padukone reacts to Dwayne Johnson opening up about depression

She also shared the Instagram account of her mental health foundation, The Live Love Laugh Foundation.

New Delhi: Hollywood actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson opened up about going through depression and facing mental health problems. Deepika Padukone took to her social media to stand with Dwayne and to give the message about the significance of mental health. Sharing a post from a news portal, Deepika wrote, “Mental Health Matters.”

The Bollywood actor took to her Instagram stories and stood with Dwayne Johnson. She also shared the Instagram account of her mental health foundation, The Live Love Laugh Foundation.

On The Pivot podcast, Dwayne opened up about the time when he first felt depressed during her University days when he injured his shoulder.  The actor said that he did not want to go to school, and just left. He added that he did not know what mental health or depression was. He said that he just was not attending the team meetings and did not feel to be there.

Deepika has been vocal about mental health and started her foundation to support people going through depression. Back in 2015, the Bollywood diva opened up about her depression in a media interview. Not only did she share her experience of suffering from it, she also shared how she battled it.

On the work front, Deepika was last seen in ‘Pathaan’ alongside Shah Rukh Khan and will next be seen in Nag Ashwin’s ‘Project K’ with Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani and Dulquer Salman. The actor also has ‘Fighter’ with Hrithik Roshan and ‘The Intern’ with Amitabh Bachchan in the pipeline.
