New Delhi: After making the fans wait for a long time, Vijay Sethupathi & Katrina Kaif’s hyped mystery-thriller Merry Christmas finally graced the cinemas on 12 January 2024.
Thanks to the moviegoers’ mixed remarks, the movie saw a sluggish start at the Box Office & managed to rake in a sum of Rs 25.66 crore by the end of its theatrical run. However, despite its underwhelming performance at the ticket windows, film critics hailed the Katrina Kaif starrer for various reasons including its lead cast’s captivating acting & Sriram Raghavan’s near-perfect direction.
Meanwhile, following the end of Merry Christmas’ journey on the big screens, fans are now eagerly waiting for its arrival on the OTT platform & here’s everything you should know about the same.

While an official announcement regarding the film’s digital debut is awaited, reports have it that Merry Christmas will premiere on Netflix on or around 8th March 2024. This will provide the fans another chance to witness Katrina & Vijay’s on-screen chemistry, this time on the digital screens. However, to watch the film on Netflix, one will be required to have a subscription to the services of the digital platform.
Merry Christmas Story
Directed and written by Sriram Raghavan, Merry Christmas is a twisted tale of love, suspense & crime. Its story, which takes place within a single night, tells the tale of Albert (Vijay Sethupathi) who lands in Mumbai after spending a long time in Dubai. Sorrowed by his mother’s demise, he then steps out of his place & leisurely walks around the streets of Bombay which are bustling ahead of Christmas Eve festivities & ends up treating himself in an expensive restaurant.
Following that, he stumbles upon a gorgeous woman Maria (Katrina) who stands ghosted by her date for bringing her daughter with her. After a short interaction, Albert and Maria then instantly click and the latter even takes him to her old-fashioned apartment. From there, the duo’s romantic tale takes an unexpected turn & they find themselves entrapped in a dark murder mystery.
