Mohanlal to do cameo in Rajinikanth’s upcoming film ‘Jailer’, fans call it ‘unexpected’

New Delhi: Mohanlal has reportedly signed for a cameo in Rajinikanth’s upcoming Tamil film ‘Jailer’. The actor is expected to join the sets this weekend for the shooting, and the news has made the fans go gaga. The stalwarts of South Indian films will be seen together on the big screen for the first time.

The makers of ‘Jailer’ have not yet confirmed the news, but according to reports, citing a source from the film’s unit, both actors will be collaborating for the Tamil action-thriller. ‘Jailer’ stars Rajinikanth in the lead, who plays a prison jailer.

The movie follows a gang trying to rescue their leader from a prison, where the jailer of the prison fights to stop them. The film is written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and also stars Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Vinayakan and Vasanth Ravi.

Recently, pictures of Rajinikanth posing with a little girl on the sets of the film surfaced on the internet. Meanwhile, Mohanlal is expected to join the sets on January 8.

Mohanlal was last seen in the Malayalam film ‘Monster’ and is currently gearing up for Shaji Kailas’ ‘Alone’ which is set during the COVID-19 pandemic. On the other hand, Thalaiva Rajinikanth will also be seen in his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s film, ‘Laal Salaam’. He will have an extended cameo in the movie while Aishwarya is returning to direction after seven years.
