New Delhi: Actor Radhika Apte shared the teaser for her upcoming spy-thriller ‘Mrs Undercover’. The concept of the film revolves around being a housewife by the day and an undercover action spy at night. While there has been a rise in spy-thrillers lately, ‘Mrs Undercover’ seems to be a rare women-led spy story that involves all the action and masala.
The teaser shows Radhika a woman doing her household chores while her husband describes her work as doing nothing and just being a housewife. She is shown clumsily with the work as she falls while watering the plants, throws away the rolling pin and could not handle the mixer grinder. However, when it comes to beating the men at night, she is great at her job.

The film seems to be calling out the patriarchy and also looking at the role of a housewife, while it gives the agency to a woman to lead her life on her own terms but ‘undercover’.
The actor did a great job and was appreciated for her role in Vasan Bala’s ‘Monica O My Darnling’ and seems to be enjoying this comedy-action genre.
The film is directed by Anushree Mehta and also stars Saheb Chatterjee, Sumeet Vyas and Rajesh Sharma. The film is written by Anushree along with Abir Sengupta.

The makers released the poster of the film on March 8, to mark International Women’s Day. The film will release on Zee5 in April, while the trailer will be out soon.
