New Delhi: Mrunal Thakur, who won many hearts with her simplicity and captivating performance in the romantic drama Sita Ramam turned 31 today. Born in a middle-class family, she is an inspiration for many television actresses who switch their careers from television to movies. She gained immense popularity through her role as Bulbul in the popular television show Kumkun Bhagya. Mrunal proved her mettle in mainstream cinema with her stellar performance in her debutant movie Super 30 opposite Hrithik Roshan. After Super 30 Mrunal bagged a role in the cop drama Batla House opposite John Ibrahim.
Mrunal Thakur’s Career
Mrunal kick-started her career with star plus serial Mujse Kucch Kheti…Yeh Khamoshiyaan. when she was a college student. But she got fame with Zee Tv’s show Kumkum Bhagya where she played the younger sister of the main lead ( Shriti Jha) of the show. After working on a couple of Shows, she ventured into the world of cinema. Her first movie was a Marathi film named, Vitti Dandu. She appeared in yet another Marathi movie Suraiya and after that finally got her first Bollywood break with the movie Love Sonia. Although the movie was a commercial failure but was the talk of the town because of its sensitive subject.

Many big television actors including Gurmeet Chaudhary, Hina Khan, Gauhar Khan, and Jy Bhanushali failed to make it into the Big screen but Mrunal kept herself motivated and got some good projects and is considered a successful Bollywood actress.

During an interview, Mrunal talked about her ups and downs in career, she told people used to demotivate her saying a television actress can’t get a lead role in Bollywood movies. The actress said it use to take 7 to 8 months to get a good film. She even got rejected without audition and use to request directors to give her a chance. However, after a couple of movies, she gained the faith of directors and got the movies even without auditioning.
