New Delhi: Former Indian cricket captain MS Dhoni, along with his wife Sakshi Dhoni, is set to produce a Tamil film. Dhoni Entertainment will produce a Tamil family entertainer film conceptualised by the production house’s Managing Director Sakshi Singh Dhoni. The film will be directed by Ramesh Thamilmani, who is known for authoring ‘Atharva – The Origin’, a graphic novel.
Thamilmani said that the film is special as it is conceptualised by Sakshi and brings a fresh concept and has to be a fun family entertainer. “All of us are excited to kick start this journey and bring this special film to life for the audience to watch and enjoy,” he added.
The cast and the crew of the film are not announced as of now. The film is expected to go on the floor soon.
In a statement, Dhoni Entertainment said that MS Dhoni has a special relationship with Tamil Nadu and is looking to strengthen this relationship by producing its first film in Tamil. Dhoni plays for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL and is called Thala by her fans in Tamil Nadu.
Dhoni Entertainment produced a short film ‘Women’s Day Out’, which was based on cancer awareness. The production house also bankrolled the documentary film ‘Roar of the Lion’, which is based on his franchise Chennai Super Kings. Dhoni Entertainment Business Head Vikas Hasija said that the film will be released in multiple languages as their priority is to reach our Indian audiences in every nook and corner of our country. The production house is in talks with multiple filmmakers and scriptwriters to produce exciting content across genres.
