Filmmakers are yet to break silence over the protest but it’s a stark reality of the town that it was rocked by huge sexual assault & blackmailing scandal, 31 years ago in 1992.

About the movie

Ajmer 1992

The movie is based on the infamous Ajmer sex scandal of 1992 that shocked and enraged the entire nation. The scandal involved the horrifying sexual exploitation of hundreds of young school/college-going girls who were lured, trapped, and blackmailed for years allegedly by some elites and Khadims (caretakers) of the Ajmer Sharif Dargah.

The movie is set to hit the theaters on the 14th of July.

The controversy

Soon after the movie was announced, the president of All India Muslim Jamat Maulana Mufti Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi protested against the movie stating that it is targeting a particular religion. He even went on to say that Ajmer 92 is created to confuse the public and divide Indian society.

Asking the government to put an immediate ban on the movie, Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind’s President Maulana Mahmood Madani also voiced his anger against Ajmer 92, saying that the film has been made with the intention of defaming the holy shrine of Ajmer by depicting the education provided there as “wrong”.
