‘Naane Varuvean’ release date announced, Dhanush shares new poster of his film

The makers recently released the teaser of the film which showed Dhanush in a double role where one is a quirky killer while the other one is a family man.

New Delhi: Tamil actor Dhanush announced the release date of his upcoming film ‘Naane Varuvean’. Directed by Dhanush’s brother, filmmaker-writer Selvaraghavan, the film will get a theatrical release on September 29. This also marks the sixth collaboration between the actor-director duo, after ‘Thulluvadho Ilamai’, ‘Kadhal Kondein’, ‘7G Rainbow Colony’, ‘Pudhupettai’ and ‘Mayakkam Enna’.

Dhanush shared a post on social media to make the announcement. He shared the poster of the film and wrote, “Naane Varuven #sep29 worldwide.” The poster shows Dhanush with a bow and arrow, while he is wearing a brown jacket and has a retro haircut.

The Tamil psychological action thriller also stars Selvaraghavan, Indhuja Ravichandran, Elli AvrRam, Yogi Babu and Parbhu. Though the plot is unknown at the moment, this is a story about a déjà vu effect between two lookalikes. The music of the film is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

The movie is reported to have a runtime is 2 hours 15 minutes and will mark a collaboration between Dhanush and Selvaraghavan after 12 years. The much-awaited trailer of the film is expected to release soon.

Dhanush was last seen in the hit film ‘Thiruchitrambalam’ along with Nithya Menen. Meanwhile, the actor will also be seen in the bilingual Tamil-Telugu film ‘Sir (Vaathi)’, which will hit the cinemas on December 2.
