Netflix Friday Releases: 5 not-to-miss movies, shows to binge watch this Christmas

Christmas is just round the corner and here we’ve brought to you 5 fresh Netflix arrivals scheduled to stream on Christmas eve.

New Delhi: The fourth weekend of December 2021 is not just any other weekend of the year. This week we’re approaching to one of the biggest annual festivals in the world- Christmas. Hence, the expectations from our streaming services are naturally high for our uninterrupted dose of entertainment during festive celebrations.

Since the plans for our movie marathon with family and friends are already onboard amidst Christmas and New year’s eve, over-the-top platforms are also up with quality releases on the year end.

Digital giant Netflix, which has already won hearts of Indian viewers this December by giving us gems like Decoupled, Aranyak, The Witcher and Cobalt Blue; is all set to score golden points with its much awaited release of Leonardo Dicaprio and Jennifer Lawrence starrer ‘Don’t Look Up’ among others, scheduled to stream this Friday.

Netflix Friday Releases (December 24): 

1. Minnal Murali

‘Minnal Murali’ is a story of an ordinary man -turned-superhero Murali, who is struck by a bolt of lightning, which bestows him with special powers. Guru Somasundaram, Harisree Ashokan and Aju Varghese are also part of the movie.

2. The Silent Sea

Park Eun-kyo, Choi Hang-yong directorial is a story of a perilous 24-hour mission on the moon, space explorers try to retrieve samples from an abandoned research facility steeped in classified secrets.

3. Vicky and Her Mystery

After her mom’s death, a heartbroken girl and her dad settle in wild, beautiful Cantal. Can a special creature help her heal? Inspired by true events, Vicky and her Mystery features Vincent Elbaz, Shanna Keil, Marie Gillain in the pivotal roles.

4. Don’t Look Up

Two astronomers go on a media tour to warn humankind of a planet-killing comet hurtling toward Earth. The response from a distracted world: Meh. The movie features Leonardo Dicaprio and Jennifer Lawrence in the lead roles.

5. Emily in Paris (Season 2) 

In the first season, after landing her dream job in Paris, Chicago marketing exec Emily Cooper embraces her adventurous new life while juggling work, friends and romance. Meanwhile, in the new season of Emily in Paris, Cooper brings out her more grounded character upon having a solid foundation in Paris.
