Netflix Releases this December: End 2023 with a bang, by enjoying these top 12 releases

For Netflix subscribers who like Korean dramas and movies, December is also a very exciting month. Gyeongseong Creature, starring Park Seo-Joon and Han So-Hee, is finally here, one of the most anticipated Korean dramas of the year.

Netflix has announced their December 2023 programming lineup as November draws to a close. With a variety of popular movies and programs, Netflix is gearing up for a December full of excitement.

For Netflix subscribers who like Korean dramas and movies, December is also a very exciting month. Gyeongseong Creature, starring Park Seo-Joon and Han So-Hee, is finally here, one of the most anticipated Korean dramas of the year. Sweet Home, a horrific drama, is back for a second season after an almost three-year hiatus.

1. Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue (December 01)

Genre: Drama, Emotion, Bollywood

Tinu Suresh Desai directed the catastrophe thriller Mission Raniganj, which is set in Hindi. The film features Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra and is based on the 1989 collapse of the Raniganj Coalfields in West Bengal. In 1989, 65 labourers were rescued from a flooded coal mine by mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill.

2. Sweet Home Season 2 (December 01)

Genre: Drama, Thriller, Horror, Korean

Cha Hyun Soo and the other inhabitants of Green Home Apartments battle monsters in the sequel to Sweet Home before venturing out into the world. A baseball stadium becomes a community hub for survivors from around the world. Both the monsters outside and the humans inside pose a danger to them.

3. The Equalizer 3 (December 01)

Genre: Crime, Action, US

Robert McCall has found peace in fighting for the rights of the downtrodden after he surrendered his life as a government assassin. He finds very quickly that the local criminal leaders in Southern Italy have his newfound acquaintances under their thumb. The situation escalates to the point that McCall must confront the mob to defend them.

4. Welcome to Samdal-ri (December 02)

Genre: Comedy, Korean

Taking place on Jeju Island, the narrative follows boyhood buddies Jo Yong Pil and Jo Sam Dal. Yong Pil becomes a weather forecaster to defend his local elders after losing his mother to an incorrect weather prediction. However, Sam Dal leaves for Seoul to become a famous fashion photographer like Jo Eun Hye. After her life falls apart, she comes home and reconnects with Yong Pil. After an event that separated them, the two friends realise their love remains strong.

5. The Archies (December 07)

Genre: Drama, Comedy, Romance, Bollywood

As developers plot to demolish a much-loved park in 1960s India, Archie and the gang deal with love, friendship, and Riverdale’s destiny. With the stunning visuals and soundtrack, The Archies could have a winning formula that might result in franchises like Riverdale’s.

6. My Life with the Walter Boys (December 07)

Genre: Drama, Teen, US

The coming-of-age drama is based on Ali Novak’s 2014 Wattpad novel of the same name. After losing her family in a horrific accident, fifteen-year-old Manhattanite Jackie Howard comes to rural Colorado to live with her guardian, Katherine, her mother’s closest friend, who is raising 10 children with George.

7. Leave the World Behind (December 08)

Genre: Drama, Thriller, US

A blackout is broken up during a family vacation on Long Island by two strangers. With the danger intensifying, the two families must figure out how to stay alive during the impending catastrophe while also dealing with their roles in this crumbling society.

8. The Crown – Part 2 (December 14)

Genre: Drama, British

Part two of the series is anticipated to depict the weddings of King Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, and the beginning of the relationship between Prince William and Kate Middleton.

9. Yu Yu Hakusho (December 14)

Genre: Action, Fantasy, Japanese

A selfless gesture ended Yusuke Urameshi’s existence as a tough young delinquent. When he died protecting a child from a speeding car, the afterlife didn’t know what to do, so it restored him. Yusuke is now a ghost on a quest to do good and obey Botan, the Styx ferrywoman, and Koenma, the pacifier-sucking judge of the dead.

10. One Piece Film: Red (December 15)

As a youngster, Uta, the Red Hair Pirates’ ex-musician and Monkey D. Luffy’s boyhood pal vowed to bring freedom to the world via happy music. Uta’s debut live performance draws many admirers, including Luffy and the Straw Hat Crew, who love her unearthly singing. Suddenly, they discover that their brains have been locked in Uta’s dream world since the performance began, while their unconscious bodies stay slumber. Time is running out, so the Straw Hats must escape the nightmare or stay in Uta’s dream forever.

11. Gyeongseong Creature (December 22)

Genre: Drama, Horror, Korean

The most attractive man in Bukchon, Gyeongseong, is Jang Tae-Sang. He got his job because of his fast thinking, insight, and friendliness. On the other side, Yoon Chae-Ok learned to survive in a difficult existence. She learned to shoot, use knives, and operate equipment. Her mother disappeared 10 years before. In Gyeongseong, she searches for her mother. Her relationship with Jang Tae-Sang begins there. They investigate a string of unexplained missing persons and discover a dreadful truth.

12. Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire (December 22)

A young lady with a shadowy history is sent by a galactic colony to recruit fighters from other worlds to assist in their defence against the tyrant Regent Balisarius’s army.
