New Delhi: After film critics and audiences, the newly released biopic Shershaah has now earned praises from the Kargil war hero Vikram Batra’s Parents Giridhar Lal and Kamal Kanta Batra.
Vikram Batra’s parents have given their positive reviews to Vishnuvardhan directed biopic on their son as ‘well-made and very nice film’. The Dharma Production film was based on the true story of late Captain Vikram Batra, who was awarded with prestigious honor Param Vir Chakra for his extraordinary courage.

Capt Vikram Batra’s parents happy with ‘Shershaah’ portryal
GL Batra and Kamal Batra told a news daily, that they have had their fears about the film as to how Vikram’s life will be shown on-screen, but were quite satisfied after script was thoroughly discussed with them by the makers. When asked about the casting, GL Batra said, ” Like us, Sidharth is a Punjabi Khatri too. We were happy with the choice of casting him. Kiara Advani is a good actress who is coming up well”.
‘Tried to convince Dimple Cheema for marriage but she chose to live with his memories’
Vikram’s father said, “As long as our son is displayed on the right track, I have always been a liberal father. Vikram had told us about his relationship with Dimple and their intentions to get married. I’d always approved their relationship. I knew that Dimple is a very humble girl who understands relationships.”
‘Dimple Cheema calls us twice a year’
“After Kargil war, Dimple’s parents and us had tried to convince her to get married and move on as she had a whole life ahead of her. Though she said that she wanted to live with Vikram’s Memories.” he further added.
Mr.Batra fondly spokes fondly of Dimple, when asked if they are still in touch with Ms.Cheema, “She calls up about twice in a year on our respective birthdays”.
