New Delhi: Sameer Khakhar, a veteran actor, died in the early hours of March 15. The actor was well recognized for his performance as Khopri in the television series Nukkad. He also appeared in Salman Khan’s Jai Ho and Sidharth Malhotra’s Hasee Toh Phasee. It is believed that perhaps the artist, who was 71 years old, succumbed to numerous organ failures. The funeral will be held on March 15 in Mumbai’s Borivali locality.
“He was ailing from respiratory troubles, then he fell asleep and lost consciousness,” Sameer’s cousin Ganesh Khakhar informed. We reached out to the doctor, who advised us to take him to the hospital. His pulse was not working normally, and he was also having urinatory problems. He was put on a ventilator until 4:30 a.m. this morning when he collapsed.” He was brought to M M Hospital, in Borivali, where he sadly died. His wife survives him.
According to the reports, the final rites would take effect at 10.30 a.m. at a crematorium in Borivali. Shrimaan Shrimati and Nukkad are two of Sameer’s finest works. He also appeared in Parinda, Salman Khan’s Jai Ho, Hasee Toh Phasee starring Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra, Sudhir Mishra’s Serious Men, and Vikas Bahl’s web show Sunflower.
According to reports, Sameer had returned from the United States after taking a break and was looking for a job. “Everyone is looking for a job, and so am I,” he told. I mean contacting and applying for a job when I say I’m looking for work. In the case of actors, it is a daily practice with each movie or television show. But I’m a lousy salesperson.”
