Nurse arrested for stealing Rs 2.4 crore jewellery, cash from Sonam Kapoor, Anand Ahuja’s Delhi house

The Delhi police arrested a nurse and her husband in connection with the theft at Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s Delhi house.

New Delhi: In the latest development in the theft at Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja’s Delhi house, the Delhi police on Wednesday arrested a nurse and her husband in connection with the incident. Notably, the FIR in this regard was filed by Sonam’s mother-in-law, Priya Ahuja. The duo is accused of stealing cash and jewellery worth Rs 2.4 crore in February.

Nurse is caregiver of Sonam’s mother-in-law

The theft took place on February 11. The house is situated at Tughlaq Road police station, said the police. The FIR was registered on February 23 after Anand Ahuja’s grandmother Sarla Ahuja found jewellery and cash missing from her cupboards.

The Nurse, Aparna Ruth, is said to be at service at the house as a caregiver for Priya Ahuja. Her husband is Naresh Kumarr  Sugar who is an accountant at a private firm in Shakarpur.

Jewellery and cash not recovered

Following the FIR was registered, the case was transferred to the Special Staff Branch due to its high-profile connection.

In the house, over 20 people are employed. The police questioned all employees. The police said further investigation is underway in the case.

According to a senior police officer, ”The Delhi Police Crime Branch along with a team of the Special Staff Branch of the New Delhi district conducted a raid in Sarita Vihar on Tuesday night. They apprehended Wilson and her husband. Both are 31 years old.”

Notably, the recovery of jewellery and cash is yet to be made. At the house, Sonam’s father-in-law Harish Ahuja, and mother-in-law Priya Ahuja live with Anand’s grandmother Sarla Ahuja.
