‘Oh My God 2’ trailer update: Akshay Kumar’s avatar as Lord Shiva sparks controversy

According to fresh reports, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has reportedly demanded 35 cuts in the movie, including a significant change in Akshay Kumar’s character. Instead of portraying Lord Shiva, Akshay’s character will now be depicted as a messenger of Lord Shiva.

New Delhi: Amit Rai’s much-anticipated directorial ‘Oh My God 2’ is all set to hit the theaters on August 11, and fans are eagerly waiting to witness the unique pairing of Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi on the big screen. 

However, the film has been surrounded by a major issue, as it revolves around Akshay Kumar’s portrayal of Lord Shiva. Recent reports have suggested that the film’s release might be postponed due to certain controversies.

Amidst all the speculations, we have learned that the trailer of ‘Oh My God 2’ is set to drop on social media tomorrow. Akshay Kumar took to his Instagram to express his gratitude and share the happy news.

Earlier, it was revealed that the trailer had received a U/A certification, raising excitement among the audience about what the film has in store.

Directed by Amit Rai, ‘Oh My God 2’ features Akshay Kumar in the intriguing role of Lord Shiva. Alongside him, the film stars talented actors Yami Gautam, Pankaj Tripathi, and the legendary Arun Govil, known for his iconic portrayal of Lord Ram in Ramayan. The satirical comedy-drama is a much-awaited sequel to the blockbuster hit ‘OMG- Oh My God!’ that had left the audience in awe back in 2012.

Produced by Cape of Good Films, Ashwin Varde, Vipul D Shah, and Rajesh Bahl, the movie has the creative prowess of Dr. Chandraprakash Diwedi as its creative producer. The cinematography of ‘OMG 2’ is skillfully handled by Amalendu Chaudhary, promising a visually captivating experience for the viewers.

With Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi leading the pack, ‘Oh My God 2’ is expected to leave a lasting impact on the audience when it finally hits the silver screen on August 11.
