About OMG 2

Marking the end of Akshay Kumar’s streak of flop movies, OMG 2 arrived in cinemas amid massive expectations on 1 August 2023.

Despite clashing head-on with Sunny Deol’s mass actioner Gadar 2, the film stood tall at the Box Office, amassing a whopping Rs 221 crore by the end of its theatrical run. Later, the movie’s Hindi version also arrived on Netflix and minted a record viewership on the OTT platform.

Apart from its commercial success, it also received lauds from fans & critics for bluntly addressing the much-needed issue of ‘Sex education’ in our country.

Nevertheless, half a year after OMG2’s remarkable journey in the Hindi belt, Jio Cinema has finally made it available in multiple regional languages, giving a variety of lingually diverse audiences a chance to access it in their respective mother tongue.

OMG 2 Story

While its prequel (OMG) circled the story of a stubborn atheist man Kanji Lalji Mehta, OMG 2 tells the tale of an extremely religious Shiva Bhakt Kanti Sharan Mudgal (Played by Pankaj Tripathi).

In the movie, we see Mudgal challenging the entire education system of India as he files a lawsuit against his son Vivek’s school management for wrongfully expelling him from their school.

As time passes by, Kanji’s case becomes a talking point in the entire country, triggering a massive outcry from the conservative section of society.

Soon after, Kanchi starts receiving threats to withdraw his case and even his close ally Pandy Jii suggests he should go underground few days to save their image from getting stained in the entire locality.

With society, school management & even his own friends turning their back on him, Kanchi eventually starts losing hope of delivering justice to his son and begins to break down.

However, just before he is on the verge of giving in, Lord Shiva orders his messenger (Played by Akshay Kumar) to incarnate on earth & help his hardcore devotee overcome all the troubles with devotion and faith.

How the lord’s messenger’s entry into Kanji Mudgal’s life turns things around for him and his family & gives him the courage to fight all the wrongdoers is the remaining story of the movie.

With Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi & Yami Gautam portraying lead characters, OMG 2 features a number of skilled actors including Pavan Malhotra, Govind Namved, Geeta Aggarwal, and Aarukh Verma essaying pivotal roles.

The comedy entertainer is produced by Vipul D. Shah, Aruna Bhatia, Rajesh Bahl, and Ashwin Varde under the banners of Viacom18 Studios, Wakaoo Films, and Cape of Good Films.
