Operation Valentine Review: An aerial action thriller starring Varun Tej and Manushi Chhillar showcases a realistic air force

Operation Valentine Review: Varun Tej deserves praise as he gives a good performance as IAF Wing Commander Arjun Dev, nicknamed Rudra.

New Delhi: These days, nobody can escape hearing about Varun Tej and Manushi Chhillar. Operation Valentine, his most recent action movie, was their foray into Telegu cinema.

Navdeep and Mir Sarwar are also prominent figures in Operation Valentine, which is led by Shakti Pratap Singh Hada. The 2019 Pulwama terrorist attack in India and the subsequent Balakot air strikes in retaliation were the inspiration for this action thriller film.

On March 1, the film is released in Telugu and Hindi. Some viewers felt that Operation Valentine might have made a bigger splash when it came out, but that it still deserves recognition.

Plot

While conducting the Project Vajra test, Wing Commander Arjun Dev of the Indian Air Force tragically loses his companion Kabir. He returns to the project as a test pilot after it has been abandoned for a few years. The Indian Air Force is already plotting revenge after discovering that a terrorist strike in Srinagar was carried out by Pakistan. How they fight back and emerge victorious is what the narrative will be about.

Review

Varun Tej deserves praise as he gives a good performance as IAF Wing Commander Arjun Dev, nicknamed Rudra.

In her remarkable Telugu film debut, Manushi Chhillar plays Arjun Dev’s love interest and an Indian Air Force officer beside him. Manushi Chhillar does a great job with the role, giving it her all in the little time she has.

The viewers have pointed out that the second half’s aerial battle sequences are riveting and do a good job of expressing patriotic fervour.

However, some sequences fall flat and fail to captivate the audience, proving how difficult it is to screen accurately portray real events. A potential for a more gut-wrenching approach that may have increased emotional resonance was missed in the depiction of the terror assault and its aftermath, which fails to have the intended effect.

If this patriotic story really wanted to make its audience feel anything, it might have used some other characters.

Director Shakti Pratap Singh Hada achieved some success with Operation Valentine, but the film might have been much better with a stronger story and a more well-written script.

When compared to other aerial action dramas, Operation Valentine may not strike the same chord with regular moviegoers, but it’s still pleasant enough to enjoy on a single viewing.
