New Delhi: The animated feature film Orion and the Dark is ready and will soon be available to view on the streaming service. Sean Charmatz will make his feature-length directing debut with Orion and the Dark. Emma Yarlett wrote the best-selling children’s book from which the film was adapted. Charlie Kaufman and Lloyd Taylor, well known for their work on Adaptation, penned the script for the picture.
Focusing on Orion’s apprehensions about the dark from his childhood, the film explores his concerns in depth. Dark, however, takes on a human form, complete with a kind demeanour and luminous baby-blue eyes. The film, which is a Dreamworks and Tudum production, is set to be released on February 2, 2024.

Plot
Orion is just a typical primary school student: quiet, introverted, and secretly crushing on someone. Orion may seem to be a typical teenager on the outside, but he’s really a bundle of teenage anxiety who has ridiculous worries about everything from bees and dogs to the ocean and cellphone waves to killer clowns and even falling off a cliff.
The Dark, however, is the source of his greatest fear as it is something he must face every night. Consequently, the Dark takes Orion on an exhilarating journey throughout the globe to dispel his deepest fears as his worst nightmare comes to life. As their odd friendship deepens, Orion faces the question of whether he can overcome his dread of the unknown and live for the now.
What comes next is a night of epic adventure that might alter Orion’s life irrevocably. The film confronts head-on the distorted ideas of good and evil that have been passed down through generations. In addition, it delves into topics like childhood, overcoming anxieties, and sleeping through the night.
