New Delhi: The dance routine “Naatu Naatu” from RRR receives the Oscar for Best Original Song. The Twitterati went insane as soon as the announcement was made on the Academy Awards’ official social media accounts. The song beat out other well-known songs such as ‘This Is A Life’ from ‘Everything, Everywhere, All at Once,’ ‘Applause’ from ‘Tell It Like a Woman,’ and ‘Lift Me Up’ from ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ to win the prized title.

Meanwhile, the song was performed brilliantly at the Oscars 2023 ceremony. The audience went wild and gave the live show of ‘Naatu Naatu’ a rapturous applause. Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, the song’s singers, presented the music live on stage, while dancer Lauren Gottlieb danced in the song. Aside from RRR, Guneet Monga’s documentary The Elephant Whisperers made India proud by winning Best Documentary.
