Good news for all who could not enjoy this film in theatres! After enormous success at the box office, the sequel to the 2009 blockbuster Avatar, Avatar: The Way of Water is now all set to release on OTT. Directed by James Cameron, the film features an ensemble of both returning and new cast members. The sequel picks up the story of Jake and Neytiri and the challenges they’ve faced in the span of 13 years. While most have enjoyed experiencing this massive film in theatres, many of us are waiting for its release on OTT!
Well, worry not. Reports suggest that Avatar: The Way of Water is expected to release on Disney+ Hotstar soon. Though there hasn’t been any official announcement on the same yet, based on the company’s previous trends it is expected to release in the coming months, some reports even suggest the release take place around July. Typically Disney offers a 45-day exclusive theatrical release before it releases on the platform and therefore by that calculation it should be available by February.

Disney+ Hotstar offers a promising OTT release because of the platform’s large subscriber base due to the variety of content it provides. The monthly subscription of the Premium Plan on the platform is Rs. 299 allowing up to four devices to stream content. Allowing access to ad-free movies, this plan promises 4K playback and Dolby 5.1 audio. The same plan can be bought for annual consumption at Rs. 1499. There is also a Super plan you can get on but it allows only up to two devices with Full HD resolution and Dolby 5.1 audio including ads and doesn’t allow UHD content on 4K TVs, available for Rs. 899 annually.
