1. Love Hostel – Zee 5
Directed by Shanker Raman, Love Hostel is a crime thriller that got released on February 25. The movie features Sanya Malhotra, Vikrant Massey, and Bobby Deol in the lead. The movie revolves around inter-caste marriage, honour killing, and love jihad. The story narrates how the newlywed couples of different religions face the ruthlessness of a mercenary after being hired by the girl’s family to bring her back. The movie is produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Drishyam Films Production.
2. The Fame Game – Netflix
Marking the OTT debut of Madhuri Dixit, the thriller series got released on Friday. Before, the series was titled ‘Finding Anamika.’ The story talks about a movie star who gets vanished away suddenly. Several truths get unfolded after the investigation begins by the police and her family. The series also stars Sanjay Kapoor, Manav Kaul, Lakshvir Sarang, Suhasini Mulay amongst others. During the launch of the trailer, Karan Johar stated, “There is a lot of glamour, glitter, and grandeur attached to the lives of a movie star. But what is behind the curtain? What happens? Behind every movie star there lies a story that you do not know.”
3. Lock Upp – AltBalaji and MX Player
Actress Kangana Ranaut will make her OTT debut as a host in the upcoming reality show. The show will stream 24×7 and will feature 16 “controversial” celebrities who will be locked up for months and will have no access to the outside world. Kangana will be the jailor and will decide the rules of the game. The reality show will stream from February 27.
4. 83 – Netflix
The movie hit the theatres last year but could not reach the masses owing to the restrictions held due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Thus, the makers decided to make an OTT release of this film. The movie talks about the 1983 World Cup captain Kapil Dev and how he showed the fans and citizens to keep faith in the India cricket team. The movie was an accurate representation of the 1983 World Cup. Actor Ranveer Singh played the role of Kapil Dev. The movie got released on Friday on Netflix.
