Padmini Now Out On OTT: Know where to watch, plot, cast and review

Rameshan is a likeable protagonist because of Kunchacko Boban’s professional experiences. Padmini is played by Madonna Sebastian, who gives a stellar performance as the character.

New Delhi: Padmini, directed by Senna Hegde, has been in theatres for a while, and it finally debuts on the OTT platform today. Starring Kunchacko Boban, Madonna Sebastian, Aparna Balamurali, and Vincy Aloshious, Padmini is a Malayalam romantic comedy available on Netflix right now. The Deepu Pradeep-written picture did well at the box office last month.

Storyline

Kunchacko plays Rameshan, a college professor whose first marriage doesn’t survive even a day when his wife elopes. Upon the arrival of a new guest professor called Padmini to Rameshan’s college, he is able to finally fulfil his romantic goals. But Rameshan has a legal obstacle to clear before he can even start thinking about getting married again.

Rameshan, a college professor by day and poet by night, finds his life at a halt when a humiliating incident makes him the punchline to everyone’s jokes.

Review

The film’s ability to make its audience laugh while yet dealing with serious issues like trauma and societal poisoning is a testament to its versatility. Senna Hedge, the director, lived up to expectations.

Rameshan is a likeable protagonist because of Kunchacko Boban’s professional experiences. Padmini is played by Madonna Sebastian, who gives a stellar performance as the character.

Many comedic moments were inspired by the aesthetic surroundings. The comedic scene with Sajin and Mani Shornur is excellent and works well with the tone of the piece. Jakes Bejoy’s score matched the tone of the film well.

The film has believable parallels to actual life. The climax is a little intense, but the comedy is at its highest point. However, the story is held together by Deepu Pradeep’s script.

The finale isn’t as funny as the rest of the movie, especially considering how much the audience was laughing up until the climax. A hangover from the humorous parts makes this problem bearable, although it does detract from the plot overall. Padmini is a good time and is well worth your time.
