Pankaj Tripathi’s father passes away at 99

Earlier in an interview Pankaj  Tripathi has spoken about his father and told he wants him to become a doctor as he hails from a small village in  Bihar.

New Delhi: Actor Pankaj Tripathi‘s father Pandit Banaras Tiwari left the world. He was 99. The actor went to his hometown in Belsand in Bihar from  Uttrakhand where he was shooting for a film. His father lived in Belsand with his mother while Pankaj lived in Mumbai with his wife and daughter.

An official statement from the family was given that gives the confirmation of the news of  Pankaj Tripathi’s father Pandit Banaras Tiwari’s demise. He lived for 99 years and his last rites will be performed today amongst his close family. Pankaj Tripathi is on his way to Village in Gopalganj.


Earlier in an interview Pankaj  Tripathi has spoken about his father and told he wants him to become a doctor as he hails from a small village in  Bihar. In the village professions like doctors and engineers are known to people as he is a son of a farmer. His village is so much in the interior that there are no well-built roads in the village.

He further said that his family supported his acting dream and they do not have any unfulfilled dreams which they wanted him to fulfill. The only concern they had was whether he will be able to earn his livelihood or not. Pankaj Tripathi said to his family if they send him to Delhi, he could even get a government job. So his father said instant yes after listenting  government job. His father even doesn’t know what he and how he do in cinema . He till now haven’t seen theatre from inside , he only sees his work if someone show him  it in their phone or computer.  Pankaj’s recently release OMG 2 is doing well in Box Office.
