An accomplished film director named Rita unwillingly goes back to her native Alicante, Spain, to settle her mother's inheritance. When police find the body of Mati, a classmate who went missing while on a senior trip to Mallorca, the reunion takes an already difficult turn. It's puzzling how Paula, Mati's younger sister, manages to fit in her police job with all her scowling and gum chewing.
