Priyanka Chopra’s homeware brand ‘Sona Home’ receives flax from netizens for ‘exorbitantly high’ prices

New Delhi: The global sensation, Priyanka Chopra apart from being an actor, singer, and producer is slowly and steadily expanding her venture. The actress just after exploring the hospitality sector with her restaurant in New York has sent her hands into homeware, launching her brand ‘Sona Home.’ The new collection has an Indian touch and is however receiving flak from netizens owing to its ‘exorbitantly high’ prices.

The actor a few weeks back took to Instagram to promote her homeware brand along with the co-founder and friend Maniesh Goyal. Sona Home by Priyanka consists of a 45-piece tableware collection, which includes all dinner settings, textiles, and bar accessories.

Priyanka Chopra’s expensive homeware collection gets trolled

The actress has managed to keep alive the Indian essence in America and all the homeware products from ‘Sona Home’ exclusively have an Indian touch to them. However, the high prices of the accessories did not go well with the netizens.  

According to the website, their ‘Panna’ collection which has a tablecloth is priced at around Rs 31,000 ($398). Besides, they also have a dinner set collection named ‘Sultan.’ A cup and saucer are priced at around Rs 5,300 approximately ($68) and Chutney pots (a set of 6) are priced at Rs 15,000 ($198) approximately.

Priyanka soon was at the receiving end as the netizens were criticising the sky-high prices of her homeware brand. One of the users wrote, “Errr It is expensive for the average American too! We are highly taxed people. So it is insane if she priced it higher than an average Ralph item,” while another wrote, “The goal is to be this rich.”
