New Delhi: Queen Rock Montreal will have its worldwide streaming debut on May 15, including IMAX Enhanced sound powered by DTS, after achieving record-breaking success as the largest IMAX exclusive event release to date.
IMAX and Pathé Live collaborated with Mercury Studios and Queen Films to showcase the performances of the world’s top bands on cinema’s largest screens for the first time. The worldwide distribution of Queen Rock Montreal in IMAX started on January 18, 2024.
Saul Swimmer directed Queen Rock Montreal, the first concert film featuring the iconic and innovative band Queen. The film captures a significant event in rock band Queen’s history, providing fans with an immersive front-row experience.

About the Documentary
Queen Rock Montreal showcases Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon delivering an electrifying performance.
The performances on November 24 and 25, 1981, were organized to film a full-length concert movie to capture their live performance. Mercury Studios remastered the film for IMAX.
In November 1981, the band performed in Montreal’s 18,000-seat Forum for the fourth time. This event was filmed after a 15-month break, during which they rose to become the most popular band globally.
Rock and roll royalty joined by John Deacon, Roger Taylor, Brian May, and Freddie Mercury on stage for an unforgettable and electrifying performance of their greatest hits. Songs like “We Will Rock You,” “Somebody To Love,” “Under Pressure,” Bohemian Rhapsody, “Another One Bites the Dust,” “We Are The Champions,” and more from the critically acclaimed album The Game, including “Dragon Attack” and “Play the Game,” among others.
When and Where to Watch?
Beginning on January 18, 2024, Queen Rock Montreal had a four-day worldwide premiere in more than 450 IMAX theatres globally. The US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, South Africa, Australia, Brazil, and Mexico are just a handful of the participating territories.
Disney Plus Hotstar will begin offering the music documentary for over-the-top streaming on May 15, 2024.
