New Delhi: Superstar Rajinikanth of South India has warned against copyright infringement and threatened legal action against anyone using his name, likeness, or voice for commercial benefit without his permission. His attorney S. Elambharathi published a notice informing the public that anyone who violates the actor's personality, including his voice, picture, name, or other distinctive conduct, will face civil and criminal penalties. According to the notice published on Saturday, only the performer has discretion over how his name, voice, appearance, etc. are used for commercial purposes. Additionally, the notice claimed that a number of platforms, mediums, and product manufacturers were misusing his name, image, voice, caricature, artistic image, and AI-generated images to confuse the public and persuade them to purchase particular goods or to access the medium through which the actor's manners were misappropriated.
