Real Name of Chunkey Panday? How one wrong move ended his career in Bollywood?

Chunkey Panday was growing tired of playing the side characters. That’s when he decided to take a break from Bollywood and started doing Bangladeshi films as the lead hero.

New Delhi: Chunky Panday is a renowned comedy actor of the 80s and 90s era. With over 80 films under his belt, he stands out from the crowd as a self-made acting star.

Now, the veteran actor finds himself in the limelight time and again because of his daughter, Ananya Panday. The young actress is also doing a pretty good job in the entertainment industry.

With his perfect comedic timing, Chunky Panday created a huge fan base for himself, but not many of his fans know that his real name is not Chunkey Panday.

What is the real name of Chunkey Panday?

Chunky Panday, whose real name was Suyash Sharad Panday, was born in Maharashtra in the year 1962. He also has another name, Chandrakant Panday, which was probably why the industry nicknamed him as Chunky.

Panday was interested in acting from a very young age and eventually began to work as a teacher in an acting school. He was a senior to artists like Akshay Kumar.

In 1987, the actor entered the world of Cinema with multi-starrer Aag Hi Aag. The actor was unstoppable for five years and continued to do hit films like Paap Ki Duniya, Aankhen, Tezaab, Naka Bandi, and many others.

A mistake that ended Chunkey’s Bollywood career

All was going fine for Chunkey Panday, besides the fact that he could never deliver a hit as the lead hero.

Similarly, the emergence of romantic actors like the 3 Khans and action heroes like Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgan faded the popularity of multi-starrer movies of the 80s.

On the other hand, Chunkey Panday was growing tired of playing the side characters. That’s when he decided to take a break from Bollywood and started doing Bangladeshi films as the hero. All of his 6 films were successful. However, upon returning to Bollywood in 1997, he failed to get proper work in the Hindi film industry again.

Post his return to Bollywood in 2003, he only found minor roles in films like Qayamat, Apna Sapna Money Money, Don Darwaza Bandh Rakho, etc.
