New Delhi: Actor Sai Pallavi is well known for speaking her heart out on any matter, and this merit of her is often admired by her fans. However, the actress who has rarely made any comments on the sensational issues in the past has opened this once on religious oppression and much more.
Presently, the actress is busy promoting her upcoming ‘Virata Parvam’ opposite Bahubali actor Rana Daggubati. In the sequence, Pallavi during a recent interview with a YouTube channel made a comparison between the Kashmiri Pandit exodus in the 1990s to a mob lynching in the name of cow slaughter.
Her comments on the controversial issue have left social media users divided, with many lauding her for having the courage to speak what she said, while others are left baffled by the fact of how a dreadful genocide can be compared to an incident of mob lynching.
Here’s what the actress said
In the interview, when Pallavi was asked about her political views, she told that she is ideologically neutral and doesn’t know if the left-wing or the right-wing groups are right.
“I grew up in a neutral environment. I have heard about the left-wing and right-wing. But, I cannot say who is right and who is wrong. The film, The Kashmir Files, shows how Kashmiri Pandits were killed”, Pallavi said.
“Recently, there was an incident of a person being killed for carrying a cow because he was suspected to be a Muslim. After killing the person, the attackers raised ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans. Where is the difference between what happened in Kashmir and what happened recently?”, she added.

Sai Pallavi further emphasized that her family taught her to be a better person and that one need to protect the oppressed first.
“Their stature isn’t important. If you are a good human being, you don’t feel that one is right”, she added.
