Salaar: Cease Fire – Part 1 Review OUT: Prabhas-starrer gets a massive hit; fans call it a ‘Royal Comeback’

Salaar has the captivating story of two friends who become bitter rivals. Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, who portray the roles of Deva and Vardha, respectively, are the leads in this film.

New Delhi: The massive action flick Salaar: Cease Fire – Part 1, which stars Prabhas, is now playing in theatres. Fans eagerly waited outside movie theatres on the first day of the film’s premiere to see the Prashanth Neel–directed picture, which was released worldwide on Friday – December 22.

Following the disaster of Adipurush, this is one of Prabhas’s most anticipated films of the year. Salaar features Prabhas, Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, among others.

Following an inspection by the Central Board of Film Certification, Salaar was given the rating of ‘A’.

Plot

Salaar has the captivating story of two friends who become bitter rivals. Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, who portray the roles of Deva and Vardha, respectively, are the leads in this film.

While residing in Tinsukia with his mother, Deva leads a carefree lifestyle that is characterised by a mysterious history. When a bunch of thugs seek Aadhya, who has just arrived in town, the peace is shattered. As Deva pursues the group, he realises that Vardha, his closest friend, is controlling them.

Review

Fans are finally treated to a full-fledged action picture starring Prabhas after a long break, and director Prashanth Neel expertly shows off Prabhas’s legendary strength and charisma.

Prabhas is so convincing as Deva that it’s impossible to imagine anybody else playing the character. The audience is captivated by Prabhas’ merciless performance in action scenes.

Prithviraj Sukumaran gives a solid performance, which gives the picture more nuance. The sequences he shares with Prabhas are riveting, and he gives a powerful performance overall.

Ravi Basrur does an adequate job, and his soundtrack makes the sequences better. The cinematography of Bhuwan Gowda is also good.

Particularly in the first part of the narrative, it has a profound effect. Neat scores go hand in hand with outstanding action scenes.

A more polished narrator would have improved the second part of the narrative, even as the first half keeps the pace acceptable. The film’s uniqueness is a bit compromised as some situations in the second hour make viewers think of KGF.

Overall, Salaar, starring Prabhas and Prithviraj, is a stunning action drama. The film’s well-executed stunts add to its overall appeal, however, the plot in the second half is the obvious negative.
