New Delhi: On Friday, December 22, theatres throughout the globe welcomed superstar Prabhas back with another thrilling action film, Salaar: Cease Fire – Part 1. Salaar, directed by Prashanth Neel of KGF fame, was a highly awaited and one of the most talked-about films of 2023.
Meanwhile, Rajkumar Hirani’s highly anticipated Dunki is Bollywood King Shah Rukh Khan’s third film of the year, after the tremendous success of Jawan and Pathaan.
Given that Prabhas’ Salaar was released the day after superstar SRK’s Dunki, it was anticipated that the two films would have a tight clash at the box office.

Salaar Vs Dunki Box Office Collection
While both the films started premiering in theatre with great festive and celebration vibes, the box office shows that Salaar is much ahead in Dunki in case of earnings. As per the industry tracker Sacnilk, Salaar had a blockbuster open with Rs 90.7 crore while the King Khan-starrer earned only Rs 29.2 crore.

Currently, in the domestic collection, Salaar is standing at a whopping Rs 227.17 crore as of this writing (with Day 3 collecting Rs 62.05 crore) while Dunki has crossed the 100-crore mark (with Day 4 collecting Rs 31.5 crore).

Meanwhile, Salaar has raked in more than 308 crore rupees worldwide, while Dunki has cracked the 200-crore rupee club.

About Salaar
The story takes place in the dystopian city-state of Khansaar and follows the lives of two friends, the tribesman Deva, and the prince Varadha, as they become bitter rivals.
Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran are the main actors, while Shruti Haasan, Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Tinnu Anand, and others make up the supporting cast. The film was produced by Vijay Kiragandur and directed by Prashanth Neel.
