New Delhi: Duniya Vijay starrer Kannada film ‘Salaga’ is streaming now on OTT. The film was originally released on 14 October 2021. Helmed by Duniya Vijay himself, the action-drama deals with themes of the underworld. This is his first film as a director and second as a producer in the Kannada film industry.
The film follows Vijaykumar, alias Salaga, who is unknowingly pulled into the realm of the underworld. Samrat, who is an honest and upright cop, sees through him and decides to bring out justice. The character of Salaga is played by Duniya Vijay while Dhananjaya plays ACP Samrat in the film. The film also features Sanjana Anand, Neenasam Ashwath, Achyuth Kumar, Yash Shetty and Cockroach Sudhi. ‘Salaga’ is written by Maasthi Upparahalli, while the music is composed by Charan Raj.

The film was released on Sun NXT on July 25. Sun NXT is an OTT platform run by Sun TV and features films and web shows in six languages, namely, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, and Marathi. While ‘Salaga’ has released in its original language, which is, Kannada.
The film was made on a budget of Rs 15 crore and earned around Rs 22 crore at the box office worldwide. The film was loved by the audience for the action and thrill offered by the protagonist. Along with Duniya Vijay, the film was co-produced by K.P. Srikanth. The film made with a limited cast and crew proved to be a profitable venture for the action star, Duniya Vijay.
