Samantha Ruth Prabhu, team ‘Shaakuntalam’ visit Sri Peddamma Thalli temple to kickstart promotions

Production company Sri Venkateswara Creations and actor Dev Mohan shared the pictures on their social media handles.

New Delhi: Samantha Ruth Prabhu and the ‘Shaakuntalam’ team began the promotions for the film and visited the Sri Peddamma Thalli temple to seek blessings. Director Gunasekhar and co-star Dev Mohan joined Samantha during the temple visit. Production company Sri Venkateswara Creations and actor Dev Mohan shared the pictures on their social media handles.

The actors were seen wearing cream-white traditional attires while they carried prasad and flowers as offerings to the temple. Samantha wore a printed suit while Dev wore a kurta pajama.

Samantha also shared a picture on her Instagram stories, from her car as she travelled to the Sri Peddamma Thalli temple.

The cast and the crew also had a private screening of the film recently and sharing her views, Samantha penned an emotional note after the screening. She wrote that Gunasekhar has her heart for this beautiful film and added that she cannot wait for family audiences and kids to watch the movie. She also wrote that ‘Shaakuntalam’ will forever be close to her.

‘Shaakuntalam’ is the re-telling of the Indian epic which follows Shakuntala, the daughter of Menaka and Viswamithra, falling for King Dushyant. According to the legend, their kid was named Bharat, after whom India is known as Bharat.

The film will release worldwide in cinemas on April 14 in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada.

From a lot going on in her personal life and getting diagnosed with a rare auto-immune disease called Myositis, Samantha has seen a lot in the near past, while her fans are rooting for Shaakuntalam’s success.

The actor has resumed shooting for ‘Kushi’ opposite Vijay Deverakonda and will also be seen in Raj and DK’s Indian adaptation of ‘Citadel’ along with Varun Dhawan.
