New Delhi: Suriya’s 2020 Tamil film ‘Soorarai Pottru’ went on to become a massive hit at the 68th National Film Awards bagging a total of 5 National Awards. These awards consist of the Best Film Award, Best Actor Award (Suriya), Best Actress Award (Aparrna Balamurali), Best Background Music (GV Prakash), and Best Original Screenplay.
Following the success of the original Tamil film, Bollywood has come to the fore yet again to mould the film into a Hindi remake, making it convenient to reach the Hindi-speaking audience.
Thrilled with the roaring triumph of Soorarai Pottru, actor Akshay Kumar took to Twitter and wrote, “Over the moon to see #SooraraiPottru win the top honours at the National Awards. Heartfelt congratulations my brother @Suriya_offl, #AparrnaBalamurali and my director #SudhaKongara. Humbled to be working in the Hindi adaptation of such an iconic film”.

Well yes, this is true. The Khiladi of Bollywood is set to star the Hindi remake of Soorarai Pottru, and the movie is already on the floors. The upcoming version is co-produced by Suriya, while he has also confirmed the news of his cameo in the film.
Suriya had recently shared a pic with Kumar from the sets of the upcoming remake with caption, “@akshaykumar sir to see you as #VIR was nostalgic! @Sudha_Kongara can see our story beautifully coming alive again #Maara! Enjoyed every minute with team #SooraraiPottru Hindi in a brief cameo”.

Meanwhile, versatile actor Radhika Madan will be seen opposite Askshay in the Hindi version of the film, while music composer GV Prakash has confirmed that the movie will have its own album.
