Bollywood filmmakers have worked out what appeals to the latter group, so they focus more on the glamorous cast and catchy dialogues, which works in their favour.
1. Sooryavanshi: Box office earning (₹294.91 Cr)
Sooryavanshi, the third instalment in Rohit Shetty’s cop universe, wasn’t as exciting as Singham or Simmba. Akshay Kumar’s attempt to instil patriotism and teach about who is a better Muslim drew a barrage of criticism. Despite this, Sooryavanshi grossed 294.91 crores on a budget of 160 crores, demonstrating that mediocrity can be profitable.
2. Housefull 4: Box office earning (₹280.27 Cr)
The popularity of Housefull 4 demonstrates how we buy into a story of haphazard running, bad jokes, and sexual harassment being used as a comedy. This film, which cost 75 crores to make yet was devoid of sense and decency, grossed 280.27 crores.
3. Baar Baar Dekho: Box office earning (₹53 Cr)
The album Baar Baar Dekho ruled our playlists at one point in our lives. Perhaps the moving music saved this sinking film. The film, starring Siddhartha Mishra and Katrina Kaif, grossed 62 crores on a budget of 53 crores.
4. Judwaa 2: Box office earning (₹27.59 Cr)
Varun Dhawan, Taapsee Pannu, and Jacqueline Fernandes starred in the sequel to Salman Khan’s Judwaa, which was a classic comedy that Varun Dhawan fans demanded. On a budget of 65 crores, it grossed a budget of 65 crores.
5. Happy New Year: Box office earning (₹408 Cr)
To be honest, everyone was enthralled by Shah Rukh Khan’s rom-com ensemble, which may explain why the picture that would leave a rational person’s memory grossed a lot of money at the box office. Happy New Year grossed 408 crores on a budget of 100 crores.
6. Dhoom 3: Box office earning (₹500 Cr)
Dhoom 3, starring Aamir Khan, failed to live up to the hype. The well-received songs couldn’t compensate for the poor story and action sequences. Dhoom 3 was the first Indian film to gross 500 crores on a budget of 175 crores, believe it or not.
