Following this, the director made some stunning remarks, claiming that Sridevi had excessive demands. Reports circulated that the actress asked the filmmakers to book an entire floor of a five-star hotel for her and compensate her Rs 6 crore for the job.
Rajamouli was said to have said, “Our crew became irritated after hearing a slew of wishes from her (Sridevi). We also assumed that meeting her requests would be beyond our means. Then we approached Ramya Krishnan, who proved to be great, and we now feel fortunate that we ditched the notion of including Sridevi in our film.”
The late superstar later responded to the same. “First and foremost, I can’t believe he (Rajamouli) would say such a thing. Second, I am not the type to make unreasonable requests. Whatever occurred with Baahubali is now history. Why are we discussing it now? I’ve turned down a plethora of roles in the past. I believe it is quite impolite to discuss films you do not produce “she stated.
