Shah Rukh stated that he chose the bald look because it was more convenient as it saved him two hours of make-up. During the interview, Shah Rukh also shared how some of his friends reacted to his bald look when they saw him in the movie’s promotional material.

He explained that it was never part of the script, but he chose to go bald as it would save him two hours of makeup. Shah Rukh also shared how some of his friends had reservations about his bald look, as they thought it was scary and might not appeal to girls. However, Shah Rukh joked that he hoped girls would still like him, adding that he likes bald girls too.

In the movie “Jawan,” Shah Rukh Khan’s character initially wears makeup to portray a bald Metro hijacker. Later in the film, he opts for the same bald look while dealing with Sanjay Dutt’s character after stealing voting machines. During an interview, Shah Rukh expressed his preference for playing anti-heroes over traditional heroes. He found playing heroes to be boring because they only do good and nice things. To bring more depth to his portrayal of a good character, he enjoyed exploring the dark, villainous side in order to appreciate and give more gusto to his heroic roles. Shah Rukh personally enjoys playing the bad guy and finds it more exciting and fulfilling.
