New Delhi: Tamil actress Nayanthara and her husband and director Vignesh Shivan, who recently welcomed twin boys, are now under the lens of the state’s health department regarding possible violation of surrogacy rules. When asked by the media, the Tamil Nadu health minister said that they would examine the matter.
The duo got hitched earlier this year in June after being in a relationship for several years. Reports have it that the couple had used a surrogate mother as Nayanthara has been working with Shah Rukh Khan on Atlee’s upcoming project Jawan.
“According to norms, those aged 21 years and under the age of 36 can donate oocytes (ova or eggs). We presume this could have been done that way… director of health services will be asked to examine if it was done according to norms”, the state health minister MA Subramanian told the reporters.
On Sunday, Vignesh shared a pic of himself and his wife Nayanthara kissing the tiny feet of their newborn sons with caption, “Nayan & Me have become Amma & Appa. We are blessed with Twin Baby Boys”.

However, the announcement by the latter said nothing about the infants being born via surrogacy.
