Telugu action-drama Virata Parvam to hit cinemas on June 17

New Delhi: Telugu action-drama Virata Parvam is all set to release in theatres on June 17. The film is directed by Venu Udugula and features Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi as lead stars.

The plot of the film revolves around a love story set in the 1990s in Telangana, under the backdrop of the Naxalite movement. Udugula wrote the story of the film from the events he witnessed during his childhood in Warangal. Earlier, the film was set to release in April 2021 but got postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in the country. 

The film also features Priyamani and Nandita Das alongside Rana Daggubati and Sai Pallavi. Rana Daggubati is said to have lost some weight for the film. Also, Venu Udugula told the media during a promotion event that Sai Pallavi starved herself to prepare for a scene in the film. Vennela, played by Sai Pallavi, starves for two days in the film. To get into the skin of the character, Sai actually starved herself for two days. Talking about her character, Sai Pallavi in an interview told that she plays contemporary characters usually and Virata Parvam is a period film so she took the opportunity. She also o played a character based in a different era in her last film Shyam Singha Roy.

Fans are showing great excitement for the much-awaited film.
